Bing & Grøndahl Sea Boy with Conch figure no. 469 or 2264

Sea Boy with conch from Bing & Grøndahl is an atmospheric porcelain figurine that captures the quiet poetry of the sea children series. The figurine shows a little sea boy kneeling with a large conch raised to his ear, as if he is listening to the sea's own whisper. The simple white expression gives the motif calm and makes the figurine easy to place in both classic and modern homes.

The soft modelling and the calm posture help to emphasize the figurine's maritime narrative. This is not an over-decorated expression, but a finely balanced design, where the child's concentrated posture and the conch's organic form create life in the glossy porcelain surface. The motif fits beautifully into a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but also stands strong on its own on a shelf, in a bookcase or as a small decorative detail in a summer house or bathroom.

The figurine is made in blanc de chine porcelain, a technique and style that emphasizes the clean lines and the sculptural expression. Designer Ebbe Sadolin is known for figurines with presence and sensitivity, and this is also felt here, where movement and atmosphere are gathered in a small, cohesive motif. For collectors of B&G figurines and Danish porcelain figurines, Sea Boy with Conch is an obvious choice, not least because the item number is also often important in searching and identification.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they bring history, craftsmanship and personality into the interior. It is exactly the type of decorative art and collector's item that can still create joy today and at the same time is a beautiful choice for you who appreciate quality with soul rather than new production.
