Bing & Grøndahl Speak no evil child figurine no. 498 or 2498

Bing & Grøndahl child figurine "Speak no evil" is a classic porcelain figurine with a simple and recognizable motif: a small child standing with hands in front of the mouth. The figurine belongs to the series "The three Virtues" and conveys the well-known idea of keeping quiet and guarding one's words. This gives the figurine both charm, symbolism and a timeless story, which still speaks to collectors and to those who are fond of older Danish porcelain with character.

The motif is modeled with soft, calm shapes that highlight the child's round cheeks, the slightly bent posture and the concentrated gesture. The white blanc de chine finish emphasizes the figurine's pure expression and lets the light play beautifully across the glossy surface of the porcelain. It is precisely the monochrome white porcelain figurine that makes it easy to place in many types of interior, where it can stand alone or together with other child figurines and classic porcelain figurines.

The figurine is created by Svend Lindhart, who is known for his lively and human models. Here the expression is finely balanced between the naive and the stylish, which makes "Speak no evil" a sought-after collector's item from Bing & Grøndahl. For collectors of the series "The three Virtues" it is an obvious choice, but it also works beautifully as a standalone figurine on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a personal arrangement with Danish design and decorative arts.

Older porcelain figurines like this one carry history with them and are at the same time a sustainable choice. When you choose vintage porcelain, you give new life to a quality product that is created to last and to be appreciated through generations. That is precisely part of the joy of classic Bing & Grøndahl: good craftsmanship, strong formal language and a special calm that fits beautifully into the modern home.
