Bing & Grøndahl Sea Boy with conch shell figurine no. 2264

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2264 depicts a sea boy with a conch shell in a calm and poetic motif that brings to mind the world of the sea. The figurine is made of white porcelain with fine gold details on the conch shell, which give the simple expression a warm and decorative contrast. The kneeling boy holds the conch shell up to his ear, as if listening to the sound of the sea, and it is precisely this little story that makes the figurine come alive in the interior.

The motif has a soft and harmonious design that suits Bing & Grøndahl's classic figurine tradition. The smooth surfaces and the simple colour scheme let the form speak for itself, while the gold edge on the conch shell emphasises the figurine's maritime mood. It is a porcelain figurine that can both stand alone and be beautifully combined with other white figurines, maritime decorations or classic Danish porcelain.

The artist Ebbe Sadolin is known for figurines with presence and character, and here the expression is quiet, childlike and dreamy. The sea boy is well suited to collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but also to those who want a decorative child figurine with a light maritime touch. It is well suited to a shelf, a display cabinet or a windowsill, where the light can play on the glossy surface of the porcelain and make the gold details stand out.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they bring both history, craftsmanship and personality into the home. Choosing a figurine with history is also a beautiful way to give classic design new life. The sea boy with conch shell is therefore an obvious choice for the collection, for the maritime interior or as a gift for someone who loves Danish porcelain and figurines with a story.
