Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2272 girl with cow and goose

This porcelain figurine from Bing & Grøndahl brings together a small piece of Danish rural life in one narrative composition. The motif shows a girl standing close to a cow, while a goose moves by its head. The figurine has a calm and everyday expression, where the interaction between human and animal is at the center. It is precisely this type of agricultural figurine that makes classic porcelain figurines so relevant in interior décor - they bring farm life, nature and storytelling into the room.

The girl is made in a blue dress with crossed arms and a bowed head, which gives the figurine a thoughtful and quiet character. The cow is modeled with fine gray detailing and a lowered head, while the goose completes the scene in front of them. The colors are subdued and harmonious, and the whole has the soft, lively effect that characterizes a well-executed underglaze porcelain figurine.

The figurine is designed by Axel Locher, who is known for motifs with people, animals and settings from everyday life. Here you get a peasant figurine and agricultural figurine with a clear story, where both the modeling and the motif make it interesting for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines. It works beautifully as part of a collection with other human figurines, animal figurines or porcelain figurines with motifs from life in the countryside.

An older figurine like this also has a special value in a modern home. It represents craftsmanship and design created to last, and it is a fine choice for those who want to decorate with things that have history and personality. Use it in a display cabinet, on a chest of drawers or as a decorative feature among books, ceramics and other classic collectibles.
