Grey cat Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine no. 2465, 14 cm

This Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine no. 2465 shows a sitting grey cat in a calm moment in the middle of grooming. The figurine has a soft, rounded form language, where the cat's upright body, slightly bent head and curved tail give the motif life and presence. The grey glaze combined with the light white areas emphasizes the calm, classic expression that makes the porcelain figurine easy to place in the home.

The motif is finely observed and rendered with the naturalism that many collectors associate with older Danish animal figurines in porcelain. From the front, the cat is seen with its head bent toward the body, as if it is licking itself at the chest or shoulder, while the back appears simple and harmonious with a beautiful, smooth silhouette. This gives the figurine character from several angles and makes it suitable both in the display cabinet, on a shelf or as a discreet detail in a personal interior.

As a cat figurine from Bing & Grøndahl, the model appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain and to those who simply love cat motifs with a subdued and timeless expression. It goes beautifully with other porcelain figurines, but can also stand alone as a small piece of Danish design history. Used figurines like this one often contain precisely the history and soul that make home décor more personal, while at the same time being a beautiful choice for those who appreciate quality items created to last a long time.

It is also an obvious gift idea for the cat lover, the collector or the person who appreciates classic figurines in porcelain. The calm posture and the subdued colours make it easy to combine with both modern and more traditional interiors.
