Bing & Grøndahl rhinoceros calf Mother's Day figurine 2006

Bing & Grøndahl Mother's Day figurine 2006 depicts a rhinoceros calf and has a calm, concentrated expression, which makes the figurine both full of character and appealing. The little calf stands solidly on all four legs with its head slightly forward, distinct folds of skin at the neck and the small horn defined in the shape. The glaze is in muted brownish and greyish shades, which suit the motif well and give the figurine a natural touch.

This figurine is part of the series of B&G Mother's Day figurines, which over the years have been collected by many for their special combination of animal motif, year association and classic porcelain craftsmanship. For collectors, the 2006 edition is especially interesting because the rhinoceros is also the motif on Bing & Grøndahl's Mother's Day plate from the same year. The figurine and the 2006 Mother's Day plate therefore naturally belong together and are obvious to combine if you collect Bing & Grøndahl Mother's Day figurines or B&G Mother's Day plates.

The rhinoceros calf is modelled with a simple and assured design, where the rounded body shapes, the small ears and the slightly forward-bent posture give the figurine life. It is a porcelain figurine that works well alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection with other animal figurines from Bing & Grøndahl. At the same time, it has the special appeal that the Mother's Day figurines have: they are manageable to collect, easy to place in the home and full of history.

As an older collector's figurine, it also has a sustainable value. It is precisely the type of quality design that deserves to be passed on and create joy in new homes. A B&G Mother's Day figurine like this adds personality, story and collecting joy, and it can be an obvious gift for a collector of Bing & Grøndahl, animal figurines or the Mother's Day series.
