Michael Andersen & Søn fisherman figurine no. 3166 in ceramics

This fisherman figurine from Michael Andersen & Søn depicts a strongly built fisherman in a calm, upright posture with his hands in his pockets and his gaze directed forward. The motif brings to mind coastal life, harbor and the working person, and the figure has an earthy character that makes it both distinctive and easy to appreciate. The wide hat, the simple work clothes and the basket beside the figure emphasize the story of fishing and life close to the sea.

The figure is made of ceramics and appears with a subdued glaze in grayish and light shades, which suits the motif well and gives life to the surface. The soft shapes and the somewhat robust modeling fit the motif well as a fisherman figurine and occupational figurine. It is precisely this combination of craftsmanship, narrative and decorative weight that makes older ceramic figurines from Bornholm interesting for both collectors and those who want personal decorative art in the home.

Michael Andersen & Søn is a well-known name within Danish ceramics, and figures like this have a special ability to add character to the shelf, display cabinet or desk. As vintage ceramics, it is also a good choice for you who appreciate preserving quality objects with history and giving them a place in a contemporary interior. A figure like this can stand alone as a small eye-catcher or be combined with other Bornholm ceramics and Danish figures with maritime motifs.

For collectors, the item number no. 3166 is an important detail, and for the right buyer, the motif is ideal if one is fond of fisherman figurines, marine figures or Danish ceramics with a connection to coastal culture and craftsmanship. It is also an obvious gift idea for the collector or for a home where maritime motifs and Danish design history are appreciated.
