Royal Copenhagen friendship figure in overglaze with the inscription "Friendship in Joy and Sorrow present and absent"

This friendship figure from Royal Copenhagen is a porcelain figure with a warm and poetic story. The figure shows a woman in a long, white garment with green drapery, placed by a pedestal with a lidded jar and a visible inscription. The expression is calm and thoughtful, and the overall impression gives the figure an atmosphere of loyalty, closeness and lasting bonds between people.

On the pedestal stands the text "Friendship in Joy and Sorrow present and absent". It is precisely this inscription that makes the figure special as a symbolic figure and collector's figure, because it connects the decorative porcelain with a clear message about friendship. The motif makes it ideal as a gift idea for a close friend, for a special occasion or as a personal figure in the home, where it can stand as a daily reminder of relationships that matter.

Royal Copenhagen is known for Danish porcelain with a strong tradition, and this overglaze figure has a classic, narrative expression that fits well among both porcelain figures, collectibles and older decorative art. The soft colors, the draped dress and the decorative base give the figure character, and it works beautifully both alone and together with other figures in a collection.

Older porcelain figures like this have a special ability to add personality and history to the home. Choosing vintage and classic porcelain is at the same time a beautiful way to give fine craftsmanship new life. A figure like this can stand on a shelf, on a display cabinet or as part of a still life arrangement, where its motif and text are allowed to speak for themselves.
