Michael Andersen & Søn reclining foal figure ceramic DG3769 21 cm

A reclining foal in ceramic has a very special calmness about it, and this figure from Michael Andersen & Søn captures exactly that atmosphere beautifully. The motif is simple and intimate: the young animal rests with its legs folded beneath it, ears raised and head slightly bent forward, as if it is quietly following what is happening around it. This makes the figure a decorative feature for those who are fond of horse figures, Danish ceramics, and design with character.

The glaze plays beautifully in warm brownish, sandy, and dark shades, which give the surface life and depth. In the pictures, darker areas can be seen over the back, head, tail, and hooves, while the body has a lighter, mottled appearance. The shape is soft and natural, and the resting position gives the figure a calm, harmonious character that fits well into both classic and more modern interiors.

Michael Andersen & Søn is a name many collectors associate with Danish ceramics and Bornholm craftsmanship, and this figure speaks directly to that interest. As a vintage ceramic figure, it has both history and personality, and it is a good choice for those who want to decorate with original objects rather than new production. It can stand alone on a shelf, in a bookcase, or on a side table, but also works beautifully together with other animal figures, stoneware, and ceramic objects in earthy colours.

It is also a gift idea with appeal to both horse enthusiasts, collectors of Michael Andersen ceramics, and everyone who appreciates Danish decorative art with soul. A figure like this adds warmth and tactility to the home and reminds us of the joy of preserving beautiful things that are created to last and to be appreciated again and again.
