Porcelain figurine shoemaker GDR no. 9852 craft figurine

This porcelain figurine of a shoemaker captures a classic craft motif with both calm, concentration and plenty of character. The figurine shows the shoemaker seated at his workbench, in the middle of working on a black boot, while holding tools in his hand. This makes it a decorative craft figurine with a vivid and narrative expression, which suits both collectors and those of you who are fond of figurines with motifs from business life, workshop and old crafts.

The motif is rich in fine, visible details. The shoemaker is dressed in a blue apron, light shirt and light trousers, and beside him can be seen a small workbench with tools as well as a dark bottle and a small bowl. On the floor lies another boot, and the whole arrangement gives an atmosphere of workshop, working calm and professional pride. The light glaze combined with blue, black and muted beige shades gives the figurine a harmonious and classic expression.

As a porcelain figurine, it has both the glossy surface and the precise modelling that make this type of occupational figurine so sought-after. A shoemaker figurine like this fits beautifully in a collection with craft figurines, farm life and other figurines with a story about work and everyday life. It can also stand alone in the décor, where it adds personality and a touch of cultural history to the home.

Older figurines like this have a special charm because they carry forward motifs and craft traditions that still speak to us today. It is precisely the type of decorative art and collector's item that gives new life to the home and at the same time is a sustainable choice when one chooses quality with history over new production.
