Royal Copenhagen Mermaid with fish figurine no. 2348

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 2348 depicts a mermaid with fish and contains the special blend of fairy tale, sea atmosphere and calm that makes classic porcelain figurines so alluring. The figurine is modeled with a seated mermaid holding a fish close to her body, and the motif takes on an intimate and almost poetic expression. It is a figurine that leads the thoughts toward the myths and stories of the sea, but at the same time stands very humanly in its formal language.

Vilhelm Waldorff has given the motif a soft and lively character, where the posture and the rounded lines create a fine whole. In the pictures, the mermaid is seen with a light face and hair in muted shades, while the tail is decorated with light blue tones and markings of scales. The fish appears in green shades with discreet color changes, which give the figurine depth and life. The glossy underglaze emphasizes the smoothness of the porcelain and highlights the details in a calm and harmonious way.

As a porcelain figurine from Royal Copenhagen, it appeals both to collectors of Danish design and to those who want a figurine with a maritime motif in the interior. A mermaid figurine like this fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of an arrangement with other figurines, art objects or porcelain works in Nordic style. The motif also makes it ideal as a gift for someone who loves the sea, fairy-tale figurines or classic Danish porcelain.

Older porcelain figurines have a special ability to add personality and history to the home. When you choose a figurine with age and soul, you simultaneously choose a piece of craftsmanship that is created to be appreciated for many years. This makes this Royal Copenhagen mermaid with fish a beautiful choice for both collectors and those who would like to decorate with original design objects rather than new production.
