Royal Copenhagen Woman with water jug figurine no. 4359

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 4359, Woman with water jug, is a porcelain figurine with a calm and sculptural expression. The motif shows a kneeling woman with a jug raised toward the shoulder, while the movement of the arm and the slightly bent posture give the figure life and balance. It is a human figure that combines the classical with the decorative and presents itself beautifully as a striking porcelain figurine in the interior.

Johannes Hedegaard has created the figurine with a sure sense of form and movement. The body's soft lines stand in fine contrast to the dark lower part, which is decorated with light, leaf-like patterns. The simple colour scheme and the well-balanced underglaze give the figurine a cohesive expression, where both motif and decoration are given space. The result is a Royal Copenhagen figurine that appears both artistic and present.

As a porcelain figurine, Woman with water jug appeals both to collectors of Royal Copenhagen and to those seeking applied art and design with character. The figurine fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of an arrangement with other human figures and ceramic sculptures. It also works as a gift idea for someone who appreciates Danish porcelain, figurative art, and classic design.

It is precisely the combination of motif, form, and decoration that makes this figurine interesting. It tells a small story through its posture and expression, and Johannes Hedegaard's formal language makes it easily recognizable to collectors of Danish figurines. A Royal Copenhagen figurine like this adds personality to the home and shows the joy of good craftsmanship in porcelain.
