Royal Copenhagen owl and three mice bowl 1050 or 610

Royal Copenhagen bowl 1050 or 610 with owl and three mice is an atmospheric piece of Danish porcelain design, where narrative and form merge into a higher unity. The motif shows an owl standing bent forward over three small white mice, which gather on the rim of the bowl. The expression is lively and almost theatrical, like a small nature motif captured in porcelain, where the glances between the animals create tension and character.

The bowl is made of porcelain with underglaze decoration and has the calm, subdued colour scheme that suits the motif so well. The owl is modelled in greyish shades with fine markings in the plumage, while the white mice stand in beautiful contrast to the light bowl. On the surface, painted feathers can be seen, which emphasise the narrative and give the whole a well-worked, decorative expression. At the same time, the shape has a practical side, so it can both be used as a small bowl or displayed as pure decoration.

The motif is associated with Christian Thomsen, and it is precisely the naturalistic modelling that makes this Royal Copenhagen figure bowl interesting for both collectors and for those of you who are fond of older porcelain with personality. It is the type of object that adds something special to the home, because it contains both craftsmanship, history and a motif that you keep looking at. In a modern interior, it works well on a shelf, a side table or in a display cabinet, where it can stand alone or together with other animal figures and classic Danish porcelain.

For those who appreciate original Royal Copenhagen porcelain, this is a charming and characterful bowl with owl and mice, which stands out from more traditional figures. It is ideal as a gift for the collector, the nature lover or for a home where decorative art is welcome to have both soul and history.
