Royal Copenhagen Jersey cow reclining figurine 4683 Jeanne Grut 9 x 23 cm

Royal Copenhagen figurine 4683 depicts a reclining Jersey cow, modelled with a calm and present expression that makes the figurine both decorative and full of character. Jeanne Grut has created a lifelike cow figurine, where the resting posture, the slightly curved horns and the attentive gaze bring the motif to life. The soft transitions in the glaze between light, warm shades and deeper grey-brown tones emphasise the form of the figurine and give the porcelain a vivid expression.

This porcelain figurine is a fine example of Danish animal figurine design from Royal Copenhagen, where craftsmanship and naturalism go hand in hand. The underglaze technique gives the surface depth and lustre, while the modelling highlights the cow's musculature, head shape and relaxed posture. The motif is particularly well suited to collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, Jeanne Grut figurines and classic animal figurines in porcelain.

A reclining Jersey cow like this adds warmth and personality to the home, whether it is placed in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as part of a larger collection of animals and Danish porcelain art. Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they carry history with them and at the same time still work beautifully in a contemporary interior. This makes the figurine an obvious choice for those who appreciate vintage design, fine craftsmanship and the joy of giving classic quality objects new life.
