Royal Copenhagen horse figurine no. 471 in porcelain by Carl J. Bonnesen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 471 depicts a saddled horse rendered with a calm, almost thoughtful expression. The figurine has a strong and compact form, where the horse's weight and calm posture are finely balanced with the many carefully worked details in the harness and saddle. The soft grey shades in the coat, the light mane, and the muted colours of the equipment give the figurine a classic and harmonious look, which fits beautifully into a collection of Danish porcelain and animal figurines.

This porcelain figurine is designed by Carl J. Bonnesen, and his sense of the animals' anatomy and character is clearly felt here. The horse stands on a rectangular base with a patterned surface, which supports the figurine's calm appearance and gives it a solid, decorative foundation. The visible details such as the bridle, saddle, straps, and the blue shaded areas by the head add life and depth to the figurine without seeming overworked.

For collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, model 471 is an exciting choice because it combines a classic animal motif, porcelain craftsmanship, and a design language with clear character. At the same time, it is a figurine that works beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a larger arrangement with other horse figurines, animal figurines, or Danish design porcelain. An older porcelain figurine like this also carries the special charm that comes with objects created to last for generations. This makes it a sustainable and personal choice for those who appreciate fine craftsmanship with history.

The figurine is an obvious gift for the collector, the horse lover, or the one who is fond of classic Royal Copenhagen porcelain. It adds a calm and cultivated atmosphere to the home and is a fine example of how decorative arts and collector's items with soul can still create joy in a modern interior.
