Bing & Grøndahl Bull figure no. 2121 by Sveistrup Madsen, 35 cm

Bing & Grøndahl figure no. 2121 depicts a bull with a calm, heavy and convincing appearance. The figure is made of porcelain with underglaze and has a naturalistic expression, where the animal's powerful body, broad chest and firm stance are modelled with great confidence. The dark brown and white, black-pied decoration emphasizes the motif's rural character and gives the figure life from all angles.

Sveistrup Madsen has created an animal figure with both weight and balance. The horns, head shape and the upright posture are rendered simply and precisely, so the figure acquires a classic expression that fits well into a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figures, but also stands strongly alone in the interior. The glossy glaze beautifully highlights the shapes and gives the surface depth, especially in the interplay between the dark and light areas.

For many, Bing & Grøndahl animal figures in particular are something special, because they unite Danish porcelain craftsmanship with the story of everyday life, nature and animals. A figure like this bull adds personality to the home and is ideal on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a striking detail in a room with a focus on Danish design and decorative art. It is also a fine choice for the collector seeking animal figures with a clear motif and classic model number.

Older porcelain figures like this have a special charm, because they are created to last and to be appreciated through generations. Choosing a figure with history is at the same time a beautiful way to give solid craftsmanship new life in a modern home.
