Royal Copenhagen grey mink figurine no. 4654 Jeanne Grut

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 4654 depicts a grey mink in a low, tense posture, which gives the figurine presence and movement. Jeanne Grut has modelled the animal with an alert expression, small attentive ears and a long, softly curved tail, so that the figurine gains both character and calm. The grey nuances in the glaze emphasise the mink's smooth form and give the porcelain depth and life.

It is a porcelain figurine that appeals both to collectors of Royal Copenhagen and to those who appreciate classic animal figurines with a clear sense of form. The low silhouette and the rounded lines make the figurine easy to place in the interior, where it can stand alone as a calm eye-catcher or be included together with other porcelain figurines and Scandinavian design. The underglaze technique gives the surface a soft, harmonious expression that suits the motif well.

Jeanne Grut is known for her animal figurines, and here her sure eye for the animal's anatomy and attitude is evident. The grey mink has a fine balance between naturalism and stylisation, which makes the model interesting both as decorative art and as a collector's item. For many, older porcelain figurines are also a way to choose quality with history - a piece of Danish design that can still create joy in a modern home and gain new life in a personal interior.
