Plate No. 8 in the Danish Steamship Friends series titled "Danish Steamships" The porcelain plate was designed by Bertina Kærager and produced by Jorn Jacobsen Copenhagen Denmark.
Information on the back of the plate:
H/S Dania was purchased in 1858 from a shipyard in Scotland. The ship was 194 feet long, 44 feet wide over the paddle boxes, and its steam engine could produce 180 horsepower. The beautiful ship, which could also sail as was common at that time, was considered the finest and best ship of the Danish merchant fleet. Dania sank in 1966 in a storm north of Helsingborg.
