How to design your own cake stand
Do you have a stack of old plates or dishes lying around that you never use? - Then you can easily make a cake stand!
Let your creativity run wild as you combine different patterns and colors to create a beautiful and personal cake stand. Use different sizes of plates and create two-, three-, or even four-tiered stands that are completely unique and to your taste! - All you need are fittings and holes in the plates!
What are fittings?
Many also call the fittings for pipes for cake stands, handles for stands, rods for cake stands, or simply 'those things you use to make cake stands with...'.
Regardless of what they are called, we have different types of these cake stand pipes and handles in a kit, consisting of a handle and 2 intermediate pipes, screws, and washers.
When you order a set of fittings for your homemade stand, you get a complete set. We would like to point out that if you want to make a four-layered cake stand, you will need two sets.
We can drill holes in your plates or dishes
We often get the question "how do you drill holes in plates and dishes?"
You can of course do it yourself, but you can also have your plates and platters drilled by us. It costs EUR 15.97 to have 2-3 holes made.
We drill every Thursday around 1:30 pm. If you come to our store at 1:30 pm, we will drill holes in your plates while you wait. Alternatively, you can drop off your porcelain for drilling during the store's opening hours, and we will drill it the following Thursday. You are also welcome to send it to us by appointment. - But remember to pack your plates and platters well!

Ideas for making your own composition
When it comes to the appearance of your new setup, only your imagination sets the limits! We recommend using different sizes of plates/platters. We often use three different platters, such as Bing & Groendahl Mother's Day plates (15cm), Christmas plates from Royal Copenhagen or Bing & Groendahl Christmas plates (18cm), as well as a Bing & Groendahl Jubilee Christmas Plates or Mother's Day JUBILEE plates (23cm). - And yes, you can put food on these plates!
Can you make inexpensive cake stands?
