Royal Copenhagen Else with teddy bear figurine no. 671

Else with teddy bear is one of the most recognizable child figures from Royal Copenhagen. The figure shows the little girl standing with her head bent, wearing a blue dress and bonnet, while holding her teddy bear close to her. The calm expression and the simple posture give the figure a quiet story of childhood, security and closeness, which still speaks to collectors and to those who appreciate classic Danish porcelain art.

The clear blue underglaze stands beautifully against the light areas and highlights the soft folds in the dress, the small shoulder bag and the teddy bear's round shapes. It is precisely the interplay between the simple motif and the confident modeling that makes this Royal Copenhagen figure so popular. There are no superfluous effects here - only a finely observed moment from the child's world, rendered with warmth and precision.

The figure is designed by Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger and belongs to the beloved series of Else and Jens figures. According to the existing description, Else depicts a 4-year-old girl, and this is evident in the entire expression of the figure. She seems small, thoughtful and completely absorbed in her teddy bear. For collectors of Royal Copenhagen figures and for those seeking a classic porcelain figure with a child motif, Else with teddy bear is an obvious choice.

A figure like this fits beautifully in a display cabinet collection, on a shelf with other Danish design or as a personal gift to someone who appreciates porcelain with a history. Older porcelain figures like this carry both craftsmanship, cultural heritage and the special charm that arises when quality objects are allowed to live on from generation to generation. This also makes it a sustainable choice for the home, where classic design still has a natural place.
