Royal Copenhagen Else embraces her mother figurine no. 690

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 690, Else embraces her mother, is a porcelain figurine with a warm and intimate motif that speaks directly to those who are fond of classic mother and child figurines. The figurine shows a moment of security and devotion, where the child clings to its mother, while the mother's calm face and protective embrace gather the entire expression into a quiet story of care and closeness.

The motif is modelled with the soft and human sensitivity that has made the Else and Jens figurines one of the most well-known series from Royal Copenhagen. Here Else is seen in a dark blue outfit and bonnet with light details, held close against her mother's shoulder. The rounded shapes and the calm colour palette emphasise the figurine's harmonious expression and make it easy to place in the home, where it adds personality and a quiet, classic atmosphere.

The figurine is designed by Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger, who is especially appreciated for her child figurines with presence and character. It is made of porcelain and decorated in underglaze, which helps give the surface depth, gloss and durability. It is precisely the combination of artistic expression, craftsmanship and recognisable motif that makes this Royal Copenhagen figurine interesting both for collectors of Else and Jens figurines and for those seeking a figurine with emotional appeal.

A figurine like this fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of Danish porcelain figurines. It is also an obvious gift idea for a mother, for a family occasion or for someone who appreciates Danish design with history. Older porcelain figurines like this contain a special charm and are at the same time a sustainable choice, because fine craftsmanship is allowed to live on and create joy in new homes.
