Royal Copenhagen Else on tricycle with dog figurine no. 005

Else on tricycle with dog is one of those figures that immediately awakens recognition among collectors of classic children's figures from Royal Copenhagen. The motif exudes childhood, movement, and everyday joy: Else sits focused on her red tricycle, while the small dog faithfully follows along behind. The interplay between the child and the dog brings the figure to life and tells a little story in porcelain.

The figure belongs to the well-known Else and Jens series, created by Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger. This very series is loved for its warm depictions of children at play and in everyday life, and here the expression is both calm and lively. Else is dressed in a blue dress and bonnet with white details, and the clear color scheme together with the red tricycle gives the figure a classic and easily recognizable expression. The small dog in white and light brown shades adds extra presence to the motif.

The porcelain figurine is executed in underglaze, which emphasizes the fine surface and the durable decoration for which Royal Copenhagen is known. It is a figure that fits beautifully into a collection of Danish porcelain figures, but it can also stand alone as an atmospheric element in the interior. On a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a chest of drawers, it adds personality and a touch of Danish design history.

For collectors, figurine no. 005 is an attractive choice because the motif combines a children's figure, a dog figure, and the sought-after Else and Jens series in one model. For others, it is quite simply a charming porcelain figurine with history and soul. Older figures like this remind us of the value of preserving fine craftsmanship and allowing beautiful quality objects to live on from generation to generation. That also makes it an obvious gift idea for someone who is fond of Royal Copenhagen, classic Danish porcelain, or figures with a story.
