Bing & Grøndahl Freddie figurine 2001 Freddie and his friends

Freddie sits relaxed in his chair wearing a straw hat, blue-striped trousers and a small piece of paper in his hands, where the text "HONE" can be read. The motif has a calm, cosy atmosphere, and the small bear figurine is made with many charming details, from the soft fur texture to the flowers by the chair and the light green base. It is a porcelain figurine that appeals both to collectors and to those who are fond of classic figurines with story and personality.

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine is part of the series Freddie and his friends and is designed by Sven Vestergaard. The series has its very own place among modern Danish collector figurines, and the Freddie motif in particular makes the figurine ideal for collectors who wish to expand or complete their Freddie collection. At the same time, it also stands strongly on its own as a decorative figurine on the shelf, on the desk or in the display cabinet.

The colours are kept in warm brown, light grey, white and blue shades, which give the figurine a calm and friendly expression. The straw hat and the relaxed posture emphasise the informal and lively motif, while the underglaze contributes to the smooth surface and the classic porcelain expression that many associate with Bing & Grøndahl. It is precisely the combination of fine modelling work, recognisable motif and collector value that makes the figurine interesting.

A figurine like this fits nicely into a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, Freddie figurines or other porcelain figurines with animals and narrative motifs. It can also be a good gift idea for a collector or for someone who appreciates Danish design and porcelain with history. Older figurines like this bring soul into the interior and are at the same time a beautiful example of the joy of preserving quality objects that can find new life in a modern home.
