Royal Copenhagen Raccoon with Food Basket figurine no. 055

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 055 depicts a raccoon by a food basket and has a motif that exudes storytelling and personality. The figurine shows the little raccoon sitting close to the basket with its paw resting over the lid, as if it has just been discovered in the middle of a curious moment. This gives the figurine life and makes it a charming feature in the collection of animal figurines from Royal Copenhagen.

The colors are kept in shades of gray, black and white, which suit the motif well and highlight the raccoon's characteristic facial markings and ringed tail. The food basket is executed in a warm, golden tone with a woven structure, and in the basket a small blue and white element is discernible, adding extra detail to the motif. The overall impression is both calm and narrative, and the figurine works beautifully as decoration on a shelf, in a display cabinet or together with other porcelain figurines with animals as the motif.

The figurine is designed by Allan Therkelsen for Royal Copenhagen and made in porcelain with underglaze. It is precisely the combination of the lifelike motif and the fine glaze that gives the figurine the expression that many collectors and Royal Copenhagen connoisseurs appreciate. It is a porcelain figurine with warmth and character, which can both stand alone and be part of a larger collection of animal figurines.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add soul to the home. They are created to last, and they carry craftsmanship, history and personality forward into today's interior design. A raccoon from Royal Copenhagen is therefore also an obvious gift idea for collectors, animal lovers or for you who would like to decorate with original design objects of lasting value.
