Royal Copenhagen Clara and Peter with barrel organ figure no. 220

Clara and Peter with barrel organ is an atmospheric Royal Copenhagen figure that gathers much of the warmth and storytelling spirit that characterizes classic Christmas figures in porcelain. The motif shows the two children standing around a small barrel organ on wheels, with a teddy bear sitting on top as a charming detail. The figure exudes winter, music and joyful anticipation and is perfect for those who appreciate Christmas decorations with a figurative motif and nostalgic expression.

Sven Vestergaard has created a Christmas figure with a lively and recognizable formal language. Clara stands in light pink winter clothing and holds a candle, while Peter in light blue appears to be absorbed by the music from the barrel organ. The centerpiece is the small barrel organ with black sides, golden details and green garland, which gives the figure both play of color and Christmas atmosphere. Together they form a lovely little scene, which makes the figure ideal as part of a Christmas display on a shelf, sideboard or windowsill.

As the figure is made of porcelain with underglaze, it has the smooth and durable expression that many collectors associate with Royal Copenhagen porcelain figures. The Clara and Peter series has over the years held a special place among collectors of Christmas figures, and figure no. 220 is a good choice if you are looking for a porcelain figure with both collector's value and decorative charm.

This type of older Christmas figure is also a beautiful example of why it makes sense to choose design with history. Porcelain that is created to last can bring joy year after year and add personality to the home at Christmas time. The figure can stand alone as a small winter motif or be combined with other pixies, angels and Christmas figures to create a personal collection with soul.
