Royal Copenhagen baby figurine no. 247 seated baby with bathing cap

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 247 depicts a seated baby with a bathing cap or bonnet and is a porcelain figurine with a warm, lively expression. The child sits with slightly bent legs and lifts both hands up to the cap, which has a small pink bow. This gives the figurine a lovely sense of movement and everyday moments from childhood, which many collectors and porcelain lovers are particularly fond of.

The motif is both simple and full of character. The light glaze, the soft shapes and the subtle colour details emphasize the classic expression that characterizes many children's figurines from Royal Copenhagen. The figurine fits beautifully into a collection of baby figurines, children's figurines and older porcelain figurines, but it also works strongly on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a personal detail in the children's room.

This Royal Copenhagen porcelain figurine naturally belongs with collectors of Danish porcelain and figurines with children as the motif. Baby figurines in particular have a special ability to create a sense of presence in the décor, because they unite craftsmanship, nostalgia and storytelling in a small format. It is also an obvious gift idea for a christening, maternity leave or as a memorable gift for parents and grandparents who appreciate classic Danish design.

Older porcelain figurines like this one also hold extra value by virtue of their history. Choosing a figurine with age and soul is a beautiful way to bring the craftsmanship of earlier times into a contemporary home. It provides both personality in the décor and the joy of preserving quality objects that are created to be appreciated for many years.
