Bing & Grøndahl figure no. 1554 Woman on plaque porcelain figurine

Bing & Grøndahl figure no. 1554 is a porcelain figurine with a calm and stylish expression. The motif shows a woman placed on a rectangular plaque, where the simple composition gives the figure a modern and sculptural character. The clear form and the quiet posture make it suitable for those who appreciate classic Danish figurative art and porcelain with a simple, artistic expression.

The figure appears as a nude female figure, modelled with soft lines and a subdued, harmonious overall effect. It is precisely the interplay between the human figure and the strict plaque shape that gives the model character. This makes this Bing & Grøndahl figure interesting both as a collector's item and as a decorative porcelain figurine in the home, where it can stand alone or be included together with other figures and small sculptures.

Porcelain figurines from Bing & Grøndahl are sought after among collectors of Danish porcelain, and this model appeals especially to those seeking figurative art with a more simple and form-conscious expression. The underglaze technique emphasizes the connection to the tradition-rich porcelain production for which Bing & Grøndahl is known. At the same time, it is a figure that fits well into a contemporary interior, where classic design objects are welcome to add both personality and history.

An older porcelain figurine like this is also a fine choice for those who value quality items created to last. Giving vintage porcelain new life is a beautiful way to decorate more personally and sustainably. The figure can be placed on a shelf, on a side table, or in a display cabinet, where its calm formal language is allowed to stand out.
