Bing & Grøndahl duckling figurine no. 1588 by Dahl-Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl duckling figurine no. 1588 by Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen is a porcelain figurine with a calm and lifelike expression that makes it easy to cherish. The figurine depicts a small duckling with its head bent down toward the ground, as if it is exploring its surroundings. The simple posture and the soft modeling give the motif life and presence, while the figurine retains the stylish character that is characteristic of classic Danish porcelain.

Dahl-Jensen is known for his vivid animal depictions, and this is clearly seen in this bird figurine. The body is shaped in calm, rounded lines, while the slightly forward-leaning stance and the small feet give the duckling character and balance. It is a figurine that conveys joy in nature and observation without grand effects. That is precisely why it fits so well among Bing & Grøndahl figurines, where craftsmanship, sense of form, and animal motifs come together in a higher unity.

The figurine is made of porcelain and decorated in underglaze, which supports the classic expression and the fine surface that many collectors associate with Bing & Grøndahl. As a bird figurine, it has both collector's value and decorative strength. It can stand alone on a shelf or in a display cabinet, but it also works beautifully together with other porcelain figurines, animal figurines, or works by Dahl-Jensen.

A porcelain duckling like this is also a gift idea with personality for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, for those who are fond of bird figurines, or for anyone who appreciates Danish design with history. Older porcelain figurines like this deserve to be preserved and used, because they carry both craftsmanship, soul, and lasting quality forward into today's homes. It is a sustainable way to decorate with objects that have already proven their value over time.
