Bing & Grøndahl duckling figurine no. 1548 - Dahl-Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl duckling figurine no. 1548 is a charming porcelain figurine with a calm and natural expression. The small duckling is modelled in a resting posture with the body gathered closely, the head slightly raised and the small wings finely defined along the side. The soft shaping and the light, warm glaze give the figurine a harmonious expression that fits beautifully into both classic and more contemporary homes.

The motif is simple, but precisely for that reason very effective. The small beak, the dark eyes and the rounded body shape create life and personality without unnecessary details. The figurine has the quiet presence that characterises many of the best Danish bird figurines in porcelain, and it is easy to place on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a small decorative detail on a table or a chest of drawers.

This duckling was designed by Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen for Bing & Grøndahl. His animal figurines are appreciated for their sure sense of anatomy, movement and atmosphere, and here this is seen in an interpreted, calm version, where the bird's soft lines are allowed to take centre stage. The combination of porcelain and underglaze emphasises the figurine's smooth surface and calm overall impression.

Older porcelain figurines like this one bring history, craftsmanship and personality into the interior. They are created to last, and therefore they are also an obvious choice for you who wish to decorate with quality and give beautiful Danish design new life. The figurine can advantageously be combined with other Bing & Grøndahl bird figurines or smaller porcelain animals, if you want to create a personal collection with classic Danish porcelain art.

It is also an obvious gift for collectors, for the bird lover or for the person who is fond of Bing & Grøndahl and Dahl-Jensen's porcelain figurines.
