Bing & Grøndahl youth on bowl no. 1660 porcelain figurine

Youth on bowl no. 1660 from Bing & Grøndahl is a poetic porcelain figurine, where figure and bowl merge into one harmonious expression. The nude boy sits curled up with his arms around his legs on the edge of the organic bowl, and the whole motif has a calm, contemplative mood that gives the figurine a special presence in the room.

The bowl is shaped like a leaf with a wavy rim and fine, soft transitions in the white porcelain surface with light blue shades. Together with the seated youth, it creates a light and nature-inspired expression that fits beautifully into both classic and modern interiors. The figurine is made of porcelain and described as underglaze, which supports the soft, glossy and well-crafted overall impression that many collectors associate with Bing & Grøndahl.

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine functions both as a decorative figurine and as a small bowl for, for example, jewelry or other small items. It is precisely the combination of figure and function that makes the model interesting for both collectors of B&G porcelain, figurines with children and classic Danish decorative arts. The motif of the young boy also gives the figurine a timeless character, where naturalism and stylization are finely balanced.

Older porcelain figurines like this hold a special charm, because they are created with care and can still find a natural place in the home today. It is also a beautiful way to choose quality with history and give good craftsmanship new life. As a gift idea, it is ideal for someone who loves Bing & Grøndahl, porcelain figurines or decorative bowls with a figurative motif.
