Bing & Grøndahl panther figure no. 1797 in porcelain

This panther figure from Bing & Grøndahl has a vivid and characterful expression that immediately catches the eye. The figure is made of porcelain and depicts a seated panther with an open mouth, tense body and an alert, almost vigilant gaze. The dark spots against the warm, light base color give the figure depth and movement, while the elegant tail and the long forelegs emphasize the animal's agility and strength.

The motif combines calm and power in a way that makes the figure interesting to look at from several angles. The upright neck, the open mouth and the forward-leaning posture give the panther a dramatic presence, without the expression becoming violent. It is precisely this balance that makes classic animal figures in porcelain so sought after in interior design. Here you get a figure that functions both as a decorative object and as a piece of Danish porcelain history.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for porcelain figures with a great sense of form and the character of the animal motif, and figure no. 1797 is a good example of this tradition. The underglaze technique contributes to the smooth, glossy surface and the soft transitions in the decoration. The figure fits beautifully on a shelf, on a chest of drawers or in a display cabinet, where it can stand alone as an eye-catcher or be combined with other porcelain figures and collectors' items.

For those of you who are fond of vintage porcelain, a figure like this is also a fine way to bring quality and history into the home. Older porcelain figures often have a weight and personality that make them ideal in an interior where one wants something more personal than mass-produced decoration. At the same time, it is a sustainable choice to let fine craftsmanship live on and create joy in new surroundings.
