Bing & Grøndahl Sparrow Chick stoneware figurine no. 1852 Knud Kyhn

Bing & Grøndahl Sparrow Chick no. 1852 is a charming stoneware figurine with lots of life and personality. Knud Kyhn has captured that very special moment when the little bird chick stands with its beak open and wings raised, as if it is calling for food or welcoming the world. The motif makes the figurine both lively, warm and full of storytelling, and that is precisely why bird figurines from Bing & Grøndahl are so sought after among collectors of Danish design and ceramics.

The figurine has an expressive design language with soft, rounded lines and a natural, handcrafted character. The brownish shades in the body are nicely combined with light areas on the wings, beak and feet, and the dark dots on the wings add extra play to the decoration. The little sparrow chick has an almost human expression, which makes it ideal as an eye-catcher on the shelf, on the desk, in the windowsill or together with other animal and bird figurines in a personal collection.

Knud Kyhn is known for his animal figurines with presence, movement and strong character, and this sparrow chick is a fine example of exactly that. Here you get not just a decorative figurine, but a small piece of Danish ceramic history, where form and storytelling go hand in hand. It fits beautifully into both classic and modern interiors and is also an obvious gift idea for collectors, bird lovers or anyone who loves Danish stoneware and figurines with soul.

A figurine like this is also a good choice for a home where you want to decorate with things that have character and last. Danish crafts and design with history add personality and calm, and it is precisely the kind of object you feel like keeping and enjoying for many years.
