Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 7013 in stoneware

Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 7013 in stoneware has a calm and intimate expression that makes it easy to cherish. The bird is modelled in a low, round and resting form, where the body appears close and compact, while the head is lifted slightly forward. This gives the figurine a fine balance between simplicity and personality, and precisely this type of bird figurine is sought after among collectors of Danish ceramics and classic decorative art.

The pictures show a vibrant glaze in light blue, cream, brown and dark details, which gives the surface depth and variation. The wings are kept in soft blue shades with small dark markings, while the chest and underside have warm earth tones that create contrast and character. The face is modelled with large, distinct eyes and a small beak, which gives the bird an alert and almost thoughtful expression. The overall impression appears both decorative and down-to-earth, which suits the stoneware very well.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for figurines with nature motifs, and this bird figurine no. 7013 is a good example of that tradition. Stoneware gives the figurine a more tactile and robust character than porcelain, and the play of the glaze means that it changes beautifully with the light around it. It is a type of figurine that fits into many forms of interior decor, whether you are fond of Danish design, ceramics, bird figurines or small decorative objects with history.

As an older stoneware figurine, it also contains the special joy of choosing something that has already proven its durability. Beautiful craftsmanship with age and patina adds personality to the home and is at the same time a sustainable choice when one wishes to decorate with things that can continue through generations. The figurine is ideal on a shelf, in a bookcase, on a desk or as part of a collection of Bing & Grøndahl bird figurines and other animal figurines in ceramics.
