Wirehaired Fox Terrier Bing & Grøndahl dog figurine no. 1998

This dog figurine of a wirehaired fox terrier from Bing & Grøndahl has a clear and lively expression, which makes it an obvious choice for both collectors of Danish porcelain and dog lovers with an eye for classic design. The figure is modelled standing with an upright posture, raised tail and an alert facial expression that gives the motif character and presence. The brown markings on the head and body stand beautifully against the white glaze and emphasise the breed's well-known appearance.

Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen is known for his naturalistic animal figurines, and here one sees precisely the sure sense of anatomy and movement that has made his models sought after. The fox terrier is rendered with fine details in the coat, a defined chest and a strong, well-balanced posture, which gives the figure life from every angle. It is a porcelain figurine that works equally well as a decorative detail in the display cabinet, on the shelf or as part of a larger collection of Bing & Grøndahl dog figurines.

For collectors, figurine number 1998 is an important detail, because it makes the model easy to identify. At the same time, it is a figure that appeals broadly, because it unites Danish porcelain craftsmanship, dog motif and classic Scandinavian design language. It would also be an obvious gift idea for someone who is fond of terriers, animal figurines or older porcelain with personality and history.

A dog figurine like this adds warmth and soul to the home. It fits nicely together with other porcelain figurines, blue-and-white plates or classic objects in glass and ceramics, but it also stands beautifully on its own as a small statement with character.
