Bing & Grøndahl deer figurine 2008 Jean Rene Gaugain 17 cm

Bing & Grøndahl deer figurine no. 2008 is a porcelain figurine with a calm and stylized expression, in which Jean Rene Gaugain has captured the animal's light movement in a simple and harmonious form. The figurine stands on a rectangular base, and the slender body, the long legs, and the raised head give it a lively character, even though the formal language is strict and subdued.

It is precisely the interplay between nature motif and artistic simplification that makes this deer figurine so full of character. It appears with soft lines and a underglaze surface, which supports the calm expression for which Bing & Grøndahl is known in many of their animal figurines. For collectors of Danish porcelain and classic Bing & Grøndahl figurines, model 2008 is an obvious choice, because it contains both craftsmanship, animal motif, and a distinct designer name.

A porcelain figurine like this fits beautifully in both a display cabinet, on a shelf, and on a sideboard, where it can stand alone or be combined with other animal figurines in porcelain. It is also an obvious gift idea for collectors or for those who appreciate Nordic interior design with objects that add calm, history, and personality to the home. Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm, because they carry original design and fine craftsmanship forward into today's home.

At DPH - Danish Porcelain House, we value figurines that can continue to create joy year after year, and this deer from Bing & Grøndahl is a fine example of exactly that. It fits well into a collection of Danish porcelain figurines, but also makes an impression as a standalone piece of decorative art with a natural and timeless motif.
