1980 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate designed by Henry Thelander, depicts the animals of the Danish forests near a feeder at Christmas time.The title of the plate is Christmas in the Woods. Denmark is often covered in ice and snow in winter and its is therefore a tradition to feed the wild animals because it is difficult for them to find food. The plate depicts the the deer, which is one of the most common wild animals in Denmark, and the population is increasing.
