This tower eas designed by Hans van Steenwinckel jr for king Christian IV, and it was built 1637-1642, as the first part of the Trinity complex. At the top of the tower, which is 34.8 m above street level, is an observatory. This building is still today visited by numerous Danish as well as foreign tourists every year.
