Bing & Grøndahl's series of Christmas plates began in 1895 and was thus the world's first Christmas plate series. Each edition was produced in a limited number, and after the year's final firing, the mold was destroyed, so that the edition in question could not later be put into production again. This makes each plate a completed edition with its own place in the series.

This Christmas plate is ideal as a wall hanging in December, but because Bing & Grøndahl Christmas plates from 1905 onwards can also be used for food, it can also come to life on the table for the rest of the year.
