1946 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Margrethe Hyldahl, has the title Commemoration Cross in Honour of Danish Sailors Who Lost Their Lives During World War II. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1946 depicdts the cross, made of oak wood, which was erected at Kgs. Nytorv in honour of the many Danish sailors, who lost their lives during World War II, in allied service. In 1951 this cross was replaced by a steel anchor after a nationwide collection, and this anchor still lies in Nyhavn in memory of the app. 1600 Danish sailors who lost their lives.
