Bing & Grøndahl Spilled Milk figurine no. 2246 Claire Weiss

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2246, "Spilled Milk", is a porcelain figurine with a touching and recognizable motif: the standing girl who has spilled the milk and wipes her eyes with her apron. The figurine captures a small everyday moment with great sensitivity, and that is precisely what makes it a classic child figurine with warmth, presence, and narrative.

The girl is modeled in a gentle, natural posture with a slightly bowed head, lowered gaze, and the small milk jug in her hand. The pink dress, the light stockings, and the fine details in hair and face emphasize the figurine's gentle expression. The motif has an unusually human charm, where the child's disappointment and innocence are conveyed simply and convincingly. It is a porcelain figurine that you keep looking at.

The figurine is made by Bing & Grøndahl - Royal Copenhagen and is connected to the strong Danish tradition of figurative art in porcelain. The artist Claire Weiss is known for figurines with life, feeling, and character, and that is clearly evident here. The underglaze technique contributes to the calm, soft expression and gives the surface the classic depth that many collectors and connoisseurs appreciate.

As an older porcelain figurine, "Spilled Milk" also contains the special value that lies in preserving fine craftsmanship from earlier generations. It fits beautifully in a collection of B&G figurines, but can also stand alone on the windowsill, on a chest of drawers, or in a bookcase, where it adds personality and history to the home. For many, it will also be an obvious gift for a collector of porcelain figurines or Danish figurative art.
