Figure of sower with dog in underglaze

This figure of a sower conveys a calm and down-to-earth story from rural life. The motif shows a man in motion with a seed bag over his shoulder and his hand ready to scatter the grain, while a dog faithfully follows by his side. It is an agricultural figure with presence and everyday poetics, where the work in the field has been made into an atmospheric motif in porcelain.

The colours are subdued and harmonious with a light upper garment, blue trousers, grey hat and shoes, as well as a dog in white and light brown shades. The round base gathers the figure calmly, and the glossy glaze emphasizes the soft forms and the fine details in posture, folds of clothing and the dog's attentive gaze. Altogether, this gives the figure a classic expression that fits beautifully into a collection of porcelain figures, agricultural figures and older decorative art.

As a motif, the sower speaks directly into the story of farm life, work and the rhythm of the year. This makes the figure ideal for collectors interested in rural motifs, occupational figures and depictions of life in the countryside. The dog adds extra life to the scene and makes the expression warmer and more human, so that the figure functions not only as a collector's item, but also as a decorative detail in the home.

A figure like this is also a fine choice for the shelf, display cabinet or desk, where it can stand alone or be combined with other porcelain figures with craft, animal or rural motifs. Older figures with character and history give the interior personality and are at the same time a sustainable choice, because beautiful craftsmanship is allowed to live on and create joy in new surroundings.
