Knud Basse cat figure in ceramic 21 cm signed KB

Cat figure in ceramic by Knud Basse with an expression that immediately catches the eye. The figure stands upright with a highly raised tail, firm paws and an attentive face, which gives it both character and presence. The warm brownish glaze with a finely speckled surface emphasizes the figure's calm, organic design language and makes it easy to place in the home as a distinctive detail on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a side table.

Knud Basse is known for his animal figures, and it is precisely here that one senses the joy of shaping an animal with personality rather than aiming for a completely naturalistic depiction. The cat has a stylized and almost sculptural expression with soft lines, rounded legs, distinct paws and large eyes that bring the figure to life. This makes it ideal for collectors of Danish ceramics, cat figures and small artistic animal sculptures.

This ceramic figure fits well into an interior where one wants to add warmth, humor and personality. It can stand alone as a decorative eye-catcher or be combined with other animal figures in ceramic for a more unified expression. For the cat lover, it is also a gift idea with more soul than an ordinary decorative object, because it contains both craftsmanship, artist's name and a motif many have a close relationship with.

That the figure is signed "KB" also contributes to its interest for collectors seeking original works by Knud Basse. Here you get a cat figure in ceramic with a confident design language and a surface that gives the figure depth and materiality.
