Bing & Grøndahl Siamese cat figurine no. 2464 in porcelain

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2464 depicts a Siamese cat in an upright and attentive posture, with its head lifted slightly upward, as if the cat has caught a sound or a movement in the room. This gives the figurine a lively expression, and it is precisely this alert stance that makes it a decorative porcelain figurine with lots of personality. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl cat figurines, this is a model that clearly shows the manufactory's sense for animals in natural and characterful positions.

The smooth porcelain surface and the underglaze decoration highlight the cat's slender form in a calm and harmonious way. The figurine appears predominantly white with soft gray-brown markings on the face, ears, legs, paws and tail, which emphasizes the Siamese character also known from the breed's elegant appearance. The light eyes and the slightly turned head position give the figurine presence, while the simple color scheme makes it easy to place in both classic and modern homes.

As a vintage Bing & Grøndahl figurine, this is a piece of Danish porcelain with history, created to be appreciated and preserved. A cat figurine like this fits nicely in a collection of animal figurines, on a shelf with Nordic design or as a gift for a cat lover who appreciates porcelain with soul. It can stand alone as an eye-catcher, but also works beautifully together with other porcelain figurines, where its high ears, long lines and calm colors create variation in the display.

At DPH - Danish Porcelain House, older porcelain figurines like this are also an obvious choice for those who would like to decorate with quality objects that have already proven their durability. It is a fine way to give good craftsmanship new life while at the same time adding something personal and lasting to the home.
