Royal Copenhagen lion figurine no. 1268 - Lauritz Jensen, reclining

Royal Copenhagen lion figurine no. 1268 is a striking porcelain figurine with a calm yet powerful expression. The reclining lion is modelled with its head raised, open mouth and a heavy, dark mane that gives the figurine presence and character. The combination of the light body and the deeper glaze in the mane emphasizes the strength of the motif and makes the figurine a natural eye-catcher in the interior.

Lauritz Jensen has created an animal figurine with a clear sense of anatomy and movement. The large paws, the curled tail and the relaxed yet alert posture give the lion a lively expression, which makes it interesting to view from several angles. It is exactly the type of porcelain figurine for which Royal Copenhagen is known and appreciated among collectors and design enthusiasts.

As a lion figurine, it fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a sculptural detail on a sideboard or a desk. It can stand alone as a strong decorative object, but also works well together with other animal figurines in porcelain, where it adds weight and personality. For those who appreciate classic Danish design and figurines with history, this is an obvious choice.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they unite craftsmanship, design and durability. Choosing a figurine with history is also a beautiful way to bring original design forward into a contemporary home, where quality and character still matter.
