Dahl Jensen lion figure 1022 porcelain 38 cm Jens Peter Dahl Jensen

Dahl Jensen figure no. 1022 shows a reclining lion with calm strength and a remarkable naturalness. The figure is modelled by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen, who is known for his lifelike animal figures, and here the lion's character is captured in a relaxed, yet attentive posture. The raised tail, the outstretched paws and the calm gaze give the figure both presence and personality.

The colour scheme emphasises the true-to-nature expression. The body appears in soft brownish shades, while the mane is executed in deeper tones, which provide depth and contrast. The light paws and the light muzzle highlight the modelling and add a fine play in the glaze to the figure. The underglaze technique gives the surface lustre and a beautiful, harmonious finish, which suits the motif particularly well.

As a porcelain figure, this lion is a strong choice for those who are fond of classic Danish figurative art, animal figures and older porcelain with character. It works beautifully as a solitary figure on a shelf, a sideboard or in a display cabinet, where it can have space around it and come into its own from several angles. The motif also makes it ideal as a gift for collectors or for someone who appreciates Scandinavian design and thoroughly crafted workmanship.

Older porcelain figures like this carry a special calmness and weight in the interior. They are created to last, and that is precisely why it makes sense to let quality craftsmanship live on in the home today. A Dahl Jensen lion like this combines the joy of collecting, Danish design history and a motif that still appears strong and relevant.
