Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 2061 Woman with basket by Georg Thylstrup

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 2061 depicts a woman with a basket in a calm and upright posture, executed with the special blend of grace and everyday storytelling that characterizes many classic porcelain figurines. The figurine was modelled by Georg Thylstrup and shows a female figure in a long dress and dark bonnet, with a small basket resting at the side of the body. This gives the motif a fine touch of everyday life and Danish figurine tradition.

The colour scheme is subdued and harmonious with white, blue and beige tones as well as discreet details at the edge of the dress, the apron and the head covering. The slender form and the upright stance give the figurine an elegant, almost graphic expression, while the basket adds warmth and humanity. It is precisely this balance that makes a Royal Copenhagen figurine like this interesting both for collectors and for those who want a porcelain figurine with character in the interior.

As an older figurine, it also contains some of what many appreciate about vintage porcelain: good craftsmanship, durable materials and a design that still feels alive in a modern home. It fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of human figures from Royal Copenhagen. The figurine can also be combined with other porcelain figurines in the same style, where it adds a calm and classic expression.

The underglaze technique helps to emphasise the fine decoration and the glossy porcelain surface. For collectors, both the artist name Georg Thylstrup and the figurine number 2061 are important details when the figurine is to be identified correctly. Here you therefore get a Royal Copenhagen figurine with a clear identity, classic design language and a story that still remains relevant today.
