Royal Copenhagen Barn Owl figurine no. 273 Christian Thomsen

Royal Copenhagen barn owl figurine no. 273 is a classic bird figurine in porcelain with a calm and concentrated expression. The figurine depicts a barn owl seated on a light base, with the characteristic heart-shaped face, the slender body and the long, gathered wing feathers that give the motif a particularly upright and quiet appearance. It is precisely the type of porcelain figurine that appeals to both collectors and those who are fond of bird figurines with a lifelike character.

Christian Thomsen is known for his modelled animal figurines, where observation and sense of form go hand in hand. In this barn owl, the bird's calm posture and alert presence are rendered in a simple, confident design language that suits the motif. The fine underglaze supports the figurine's soft surface and the discreet markings in the plumage, so that the overall impression appears harmonious and balanced.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, the model has both decorative value and collector interest. Figurine number 273 makes it easy to identify, and for many, the model number itself is an important detail when classic bird figurines are to be found for the collection. The barn owl fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as part of an arrangement with other porcelain figurines, where its vertical form and calm expression create depth and personality.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to bring history and longevity into the home. When you choose a figurine with age and soul, it is also a conscious choice to let good craftsmanship live on. This makes this barn owl an obvious gift idea for collectors, bird lovers or anyone who appreciates Danish porcelain and classic design with character.
