Bing & Grøndahl swallow figurine no. 1775 stoneware Dahl-Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl's swallow figurine no. 1775 is a classic bird figurine with a calm and lifelike expression. Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen has modeled the swallow in an upright and attentive posture, where the long forked tail, the rounded body, and the small, precise beak shape bring the figurine to life. The dark surface is beautifully broken up by lighter areas at the chest and wings, while the bird stands on a shaped base that brings to mind a small branch stub or a piece of nature.

It is precisely the fine balance between simplicity and observation that makes this Bing & Grøndahl figurine so sought-after. The swallow is a motif many associate with summer, lightness, and movement, and here it is interpreted in a formal language that fits beautifully into both classic and modern homes. The figurine works well alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a chest of drawers, but it can also be combined with other bird figurines in porcelain, ceramics, and stoneware for a more personal expression.

As an older design object, this swallow also contains the special charm that only things with history have. It is a figurine created with an eye for quality and durability, and it is an obvious choice for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, for admirers of Dahl-Jensen's animal motifs, and for those who would like to decorate with original Danish applied art rather than new production. Choosing a vintage figurine like this is also a beautiful way to give solid craftsmanship new life in the home.

If you are looking for a Bing & Grøndahl swallow, a bird figurine by Dahl-Jensen, or a decorative stoneware figurine with Danish design history, no. 1775 is a fine and characterful choice.
