Lamb Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2560 in porcelain

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine depicts a small lamb in a lively and natural posture, where it stands low with its head bent toward the ground, as if it is just about to sniff or nibble at the grass. The form is simple, but full of movement, and the figurine has a fine interplay between the soft lines of the body and the small, characterful details around the head, legs, and tail. The light glaze with discreet grey-toned areas at the hooves and face emphasizes the calm, Nordic expression that many collectors appreciate in Bing & Grøndahl's animal figurines.

As a porcelain figurine, this lamb has both charm and decorative strength. It is a figurine that fits beautifully in a collection of Danish animal figurines, but it also works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as a small detail in the home decor, where one wants a touch of classic Danish porcelain. The motif makes it an obvious choice for those who are fond of rural animals, nature motifs, and older decorative art with personality.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for their porcelain figurines with lively forms and confident animal studies, and this figurine is a good example of exactly that. A lamb like this adds a calm atmosphere to the home and at the same time reminds one of the joy of preserving quality objects that are made to last. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, the figurine number is an important part of the identification, and for gift buyers, this is a fine gift idea for someone who appreciates Danish porcelain and classic animal motifs.
