Royal Copenhagen Ole Lukøje figurine no. 1129 - boy with umbrella

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 1129 depicts Ole Lukøje as a slender boyish figure with a pointed hat and umbrellas in his hands. The motif has a fairy-tale-like and dreamy expression, where the slightly bent-forward posture and the fine lines give the figurine life and movement. The light porcelain figurine is rendered in soft shades of white and blue-grey underglaze, which suit the motif's poetic character and give a calm, classic overall impression.

The figurine is designed by Christian Thomsen for Royal Copenhagen and clearly bears the mark of the narrative tradition for which many of the factory's human figures are known. Here it is the fairy-tale figure Ole Lukøje that has been interpreted with a gentle formal language, where face, hair, costume and umbrellas are modelled with great precision. The stepped base elevates the figurine beautifully and emphasizes its character as a decorative porcelain figurine and collector's item.

For collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, no. 1129 is a model with both history and charm. It fits beautifully among other fairy-tale figures, human figures and classic porcelain figurines, but can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a small table, where it adds personality to the home and a touch of Danish design history. Older porcelain figurines like this are made to last and can still bring joy in a modern home, while at the same time giving new life to fine craftsmanship with soul and narrative.

It is also an obvious gift idea for someone who is fond of H.C. Andersen-inspired motifs, fairy-tale figures or Royal Copenhagen porcelain. The narrative figurine has a calm presence, which makes it suitable both as a collector's figurine and as a decorative detail with a cultural-historical atmosphere.
